SERVICES & SPECIAL OCCASIONS

At St Mary's, we hold a number of regular and special services. Whether you are a regular church-goer, new to the area, new to faith, or are just curious about attending a service, we are here to welcome you and would love it if you joined us.

There will always be somebody on the door to welcome you in with a smile, so please do not be shy.

If you would like to ask any questions before joining us, please do reach out to Jonathan, our Rector, or one of our Churchwardens. You can find our email addresses on the 'Contact' page of the website. We look forward to hearing from you.

WEEKLY SERVICES:

SUNDAY 08:00am - HOLY COMMUNION

A quiet start to Sunday with Holy Communion, using the Book of Common Prayer. Usually held in our Lady Chapel.

SUNDAY 10:00am (EXCEPT THE 2ND OF THE MONTH) - PARISH EUCHARIST

This is our main Sunday service, bringing together the congregation from across the parish and beyond.

It is a Holy Communion service using Common Worship, with a range of hymns and a sermon.

All ages are welcome; there is a children's corner for young children, and Sunday School in the Parish Rooms for those young people who wish to take part.

The service is live streamed on our YouTube page - take a look here

After the service, tea, coffee and biscuits are provided in the Parish Rooms.

OTHER SERVICES:

SECOND SUNDAY OF THE MONTH 10:00am - ALL AGE WORSHIP

A shared breakfast, followed by 30 minutes of prayer.

ADVENT AND LENT - QUIET MORNING

A time for quietness and reflection during the business of Christmas and Easter time. Dates and times will be announced via the 'News' page and on Social Media.

SPECIAL SERVIES

During Holy Week we hold regular evening services, and during Advent we hold a number of special services such as carol and crib services, and midnight mass.

Do keep an eye on the 'News' section of the website and Social Media around these special times for more details about these services.

WEDDINGS

Whether you are a regular churchgoer or not, getting married in church allows you to make solemn promises to the one you love, not only in front of your family and friends but also in the sight of God and with God’s blessing.

BAPTISMS

Baptism is the traditional Christian ceremony by which a person is made a member of the Church of Jesus Christ. It expresses in an outward and visible sign the reality of God's love for that person.

FUNERALS

Losing a loved one is always difficult. But alongside the pain of loss is the opportunity to remember – to reflect on our loved one’s life and everything they meant to us, in the way they would have wanted.
