Paint a poppy pebble for Remembrance Day
Due to the lockdown restrictions, St Mary’s Church has had to cancel the planned Remembrance Service this Sunday 8 November. Instead, we can commemorate the day by painting a stone/rock with a poppy or other Remembrance design which can then be placed around the war memorial on Sunday.
Acrylic paints or paint pens work best. If the stone is dark, you could prime with a white paint first. To help protect the stone from the elements you could coat with varnish, Mod Podge Outdoor or another type of sealer, but never mind if you don’t have these at home. Whatever you use to decorate your stones will be just perfect!
You can paint as many stones as you want. There will be a box in the Rectory porch for your stones.
