St Mary's Film Club: The Birth of a Nation

Join us in the Parish Room on Wednesday 10th July at 8pm to watch Nate Parker's, The Birth of a Nation which sees Nat Turner, a literate slave and preacher in the antebellum South, orchestrate an uprising. Set against the antebellum South, The Birth of a Nation follows Nat Turner, a literate slave preacher, whose financially strained owner, Samuel Turner, accepts an offer to use Nat's preaching to suppress the supposed unruly slaves of multiple southern plantations for profit. Saturday 6th July - 12:30 to 4pm - See what's happenning at the St Mary's Church Fete!

Hopefully by now you will have Saturday 6th July firmly marked in your diaries ready for the annual St Mary's Summer Fete! We are raising money for some incredibly worthwhile charities so hope that you will bring your family and friends along to help us support GO MAD (Go Make A Difference), People Not Borders and our own Church Roof Fund. We have loads of fun activities planned for the day and the weather forecast is looking sunny and dry! Trinity Sunday

Today combines Trinity Sunday with Father’s Day and just in case the girls were unsure what to buy me, I ordered Bruce Springsteen’s new album as a gift. It is called Western Stars and contains a number of sweeping orchestral melodies that in Springsteen’s hands tell the story of characters who have known shattered dreams and failure, but also maintain some hope for the future. One of my favourites is a song called “Hello Sunshine,” which captures how I feel when going on a like bike ride. Join us at the Berkhamsted Deanery Barn Dance on Saturday 22nd June!

The Berkhamsted Deanery Barn Dance will be held on Saturday 22nd June at Northchurch Social Centre. The evening will kick off at 19:00 and will be led by a band and caller. Fish and chips will be provided but please do bring your own drinks. Tickets cost £5 each – please click here to book. Please do dust off your dancing shoes and join us for the evening!

St Mary's Film Club: Into the Wild

Join us in the Parish Room on Wednesday 5th June at 7.45pm to watch Sean Penn's Oscar nominated film, Into the Wild. Refreshments will be provided and everybody is welcome! After graduating from Emory University, top student and athlete Christopher McCandless abandons his possessions, gives his entire $24,000 savings account to charity and hitchhikes to Alaska to live in the wilderness. Along the way, Christopher encounters a series of characters that shape his life.

St Mary's Pentecost All Age Worship service on Sunday 9th June

Join us for our Pentecost All Age Worship service on Sunday 9th June at 10am. There will be some fun craft activities for children where they can make Pentecost hats and streamers and the service will be led by the St Mary’s Music Group. Everybody is welcome and we hope to see you there!
