Please join us at 10am on Sunday 10th November for the Service of Remembrance, followed by refreshments in the Parish Room afterwards. We will also be holding a Service of Thanksgiving & Remembrance for those whom we have loved and lost. This will take place at 6pm on Sunday 3rd November. Everybody is welcome and we hope to see you there.
On Sunday 6th October, St Mary's Church hosted a concert given by The Resurrection Choir of St Petersburg as part of their 60 day concert tour of the UK. The choir, just 8 voices under the direction of Jurii Maruk treated a full church to a first half of sacred Russian music with different members of the choir taking solo roles. These items were performed with great control, amazing voice production and great passion. A particular mention to Mezzo-soprano Tamara and Tenor Nik
As part of the fundraising effort for the St Mary's Northchurch roof fund, we are selling Christmas cards showing the wonderful model of our church in a festive winter scene! The printing cost has very kindly been sponsored, so every penny of income will go directly into the roof fund. A pack of 5 cards and envelopes costs £5.00. Unfortunately we have had to cancel our last Wednesday Puzzlers Open Day which was due to take place this week on the 23rd October. We will resume this in the Spring after the clocks go forward so please do keep an eye on the website and come along next year!
Dont forget that our St Mary's Open Church Afternoons take place every Wednesday from 2-4 pm. We always have puzzles, games, cakes, tea and chats! Some of the men that come along go and cut grass and do odd jobs together, so everyone is very welcome to come and join in. As you can see, we used all of the letters in the scrabble box this Wednesday!
